A free day in Prague meant sleeping in because there was no rush to get up early to be on the road. It was a lazy morning with breakfast around 9am then we headed to town around 10am.

The tram station was just outside our hotel so it was easy. We missed our stop in the Old Town but it was okay - just another chance for us to explore around. It was a cold morning and I was a little under dressed. We looked around for some clothing shops to get me something but I was being too picky and didn’t find anything. Thankfully the day warmed up a little later on.
We spent our morning just walking around aimlessly but got some local street food to fuel ourselves. I enjoyed their Chimney cake (a backed dough shaped like cylinder coated with sugar and cinnamon). There were many ways you could have it: with chocolate, ice cream or simply just plain (classic). I opted for the classic because it would be the best way to get its original flavour.
As we ventured out further, we found what I believed to be the Wenceslas Palace/Square behind a very low key wall fence. Because it had warmed up, we sat on one of the wooden benches in the garden to soak in the sun and also to rest our well worked legs and feet. I was very surprised to see a few peacocks there in the garden and they were not shy around human at all.
Later we found apple strudel (originates in Czech Republic) and BBQ Pork neck for a light lunch. There were both delicious and it was nice to get good food without paying big money in a restaurant.

After our late lunch we continued to just stroll through the streets in Prague. We didn’t plan to see anything but just simplely enjoyed seeing the different culture, people (although majority were tourists) and scenery.
Dinner was at a local Czech restaurant and I had the roasted pork knee and Phil had the Classic Roast Pork. Very good again. I was happy that so far all the food we had on the trip have been wonderful. I wondered how many kg I would put down since I haven’t been keeping up with any exercise apart from walking.
